Turkey is a fantastic alternative to beef as a lean protein. You can easily replicate good old bolognese and I bet many people wouldn’t even notice. Here’s an easy recipe for you to give it a whirl.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 2 onions chopped
- 2 Garlic cloves crushed
- 500 g turkey mince
- 250 g mushrooms sliced
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 1 tin chopped tomatoes
- 350 ml red wine
- 500 ml chicken stock preferably homemade
- 1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions
- Melt the ghee in a large saucepan and gently cook the onion and garlic for a few minutes before adding the turkey mince.
- Once the mince is browned, add the sliced mushrooms and cook for a further 3 minutes or so.
- Add the chilli flakes, tomatoes, red wine, stock and thyme. Bring to the boil and cook with the lid on for around an hour.
