Spirulina – what an awesome foodstuff, not only does this blue-green algae give food a crazy deep green colour, it also provides you with a great source of essential amino acids (protein) and minerals. These balls are great as a little mid-afternoon or post-workout snack.

Ingredients
- 7 dried figs
- 50 ml water 1/4 cup
- zest and juice of 2 oranges
- 150 g raw cashew nuts 1 cup
- 85 g desiccated coconut 1 cup
- 50 g chia seeds 1/4 cup
- 30 g raw pumpkin seeds 1/4 cup
- 25 g spirulina
- 120 ml coconut oil melted, 1/2 cup

Instructions
- Blitz the figs in a blender with the water and orange juice and transfer to a bowl
- Next pulse all the nuts, seeds and orange zest until you have a rough texture
- Then add the spirulina and half the melted coconut oil and pulse until mixed
- Finally add the remaining half of the oil and the fig paste and mix again
- Take a small amount of the mixture and roll into small balls and put in the fridge to set for 20-30 mins (use a bit of coconut oil on your hands to stop the mixture sticking)
- Keep in an airtight container in the week for about a week
