It’s been a while since I’ve posted a new smoothie recipe and I’d actually forgotten about this one – which was one of my summertime favourites – until recently when I picked up a well priced pineapple and was reminded of the great, immune boosting benefits of adding Turmeric. As always, my smoothies contain a good blend of protein, fats and carbohydrates which can be a great start to the day – particularly pre or post workout. At other times, perhaps leave out the banana as you won’t need the extra sugars.

Ingredients
- 1 Banana
- 1/4 pineapple peeled and diced
- 1/2 inch piece of ginger
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp coconut oil melted
- 2 cups almond or coconut milk
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 2 tsp Flaxseed

Instructions
- Simply blend all of the ingredients together, adjusting the amount of ingredients to your liking.
- Seal whatever you don't drink straight away in an airtight container and consume within 24 hours for optimal freshness and nutrients.
