TV ads and supermarket shelves have a lot to answer for. I regularly get asked by my children if we can buy sugary, nutritionally devoid, chocolaty cereals and I have to constantly justify why I don’t think that this is great way to start the day. However, I have discovered some ingenious ways to get around this issue.
I’m being asked at the moment for ‘chocolately porridge’ so I came up with this little beauty. So simple and does the trick for my little ones.

Ingredients
- Porridge Oats gluten free if you prefer
- Milk of choice or water
- Cacao powder
- Honey or similar

Instructions
- Simply make your porridge as would normally then add about a heaped teaspoon of cacao powder per bowl. Sweeten as desired with the honey or other natural sweetener.
